I have had quite a few coaching sessions 🕡 with leaders and one topic keeps coming across. How do I work with Generation Z 🧬 (1997-present) employees? I believe part of the issue is not so much about Gen Z as a separate group, but more so that leaders need to lead all types of generations. These generations range from Baby boomers (1946– 1964) who are soon retiring, Generation X (1965– 1980) and Gen Y/Millennials (1981–1996) who are currently in or are taking on leadership roles, and Gen Z (1997–present) who are entering the workforce. Leaders are facing the challenge 😰 on how to take into account the different values, communication, feedback, training and development styles into account of such a wide scale.
IBM has created a model 📈 to understand and explain the aspects of different work expectations from multiple generations. Do you agree with the model? Are there any aspects you see differently? Let's talk.
