Do you ever get a feeling that you need to rush all the time? 🏃♂️ Do you ever ask why you feel the urge to complete the to do list asap.
I recently had a coaching session with a person who has a long list of things to do 📝 and then some fire-fighting 🧑🚒🚒 tasks on top at home or work. A person feels like completing all the tasks as soon as possible and as efficient as possible. But whenever a process requires an extra step or more information or another person needs more explanation, my client gets triggered. 😤 It means even more time is required to complete the long list of things. It translates then as anger, frustration, 😡 wish to isolate and do everything alone, refusal of support or even a conflict with co-workers.
We spoke for a while before the person realised that a wish to rush through the problems was avoidance of internal tension. 📈⚡️
In order to avoid tension, a mind creates a trick 🪤that if you solve a problem quickly, you can relax at least for a while before the next one. When this process gets interfered with, we meet it with resistance and anger.
